Workshops

Voice in Movement - from Soma to Ensemble
From Saturday 24 May 2025
To Sunday 25 May 2025

analuna siteA workshop on releasing the voice through movement and touch, and co-creating polyphonic songs through improvisation

Ground/Sound/Release & Circles of Polyphonic Improvisation

Ground/Sound/Release

An exploration of how movement and physical touch liberate breath and sound, how they bring about the body-voice connection and reveal new possibilities in the voice’s range, volume and qualities, and mostly, how they allow us to connect with what we feel and let the voice give it expression through improvisation.
We’ll work individually and in pairs.

Circles of Polyphonic Improvisation

We cultivate the ability to listen, to tune in as an ensemble and create music in the moment with our voices, by working on the spontaneous creation of rhytmic and melodic patterns, the gradual addition of such patterns in harmony, and the moment of the solo - when the ensemble creates a harmonious base for one voice to step upon and improvise.

We’ll work as a group. The workshop is addressed to everyone who wants to come in touch or dive deeper into voice, body, improvisation and polyphony. All levels of experience can coexist and complement each other fruitfully in this approach.

Anna Luna Louvari studied contemporary dance (preparatory year in the State School of Dance, 1st BA year in Trinity Laban Conservatoire for Music and Dance).
Then, searching for studies that combined both movement and voice exploration, she moved towards physical thFrame 15631eatre and started training with teachers such as Rosa Prodromou, Stamatis Eftathiou, Julianna Bloodgood, Rafal Habel, Alexandra Kazazou. She then graduated from BA studies in Acting, in Dilos Theatre School (2020).
Continuing this work, the liberation of the voice through movement became her emphasis, so she trained with teachers of the Roy Hart Centre such as Ulrik Barfod, Edda Hegg and Walli Hoffinger among others.
She then completed a one year course at the Centre,“Voice in Artistic Expression” (2024) and continues to attend trainings there on a frequent basis.
She fell in love with singing when she was little as a member of choirs, and later trained individually with Dinah Stieringer and Evangelia Karakatsani, among others. She has worked in theatre and with children (play based teaching of foreign languages and musical – movement play in groups), and since 2022 as a facilitator of workshops on vocal expression and polyphonic improvisation.
The workshop is a combination of the different approaches she has trained in throughout the years and discoveries from her own practice, brought together by the need to share the magic that happens when one allows to be guided by their voice and body, as well as the power of many different voices joining each others harmonically into the song of the moment.los Theatre School (2020).
