With Dafni Stefanou

The first section of the course is inspired by the technique Skinner Releasing.  Giving emphasis mainly to the skeletal structure and to the skin, and supported by the basic principles of mechanical physics, we give way to the force of gravity, and we allow the body to move within space freed from excessive tension.

The second section concerns the relationship between the body and time and space.  Once we have warmed up the body, we proceed to compositional exercises. We follow the choreography which is being created minute by minute, observing details such as the musicality and the poetry of geometry.

Price: €60 – students €50 (The workshop is designed for dancers, actors, musicians, and also more generally for those who have worked with movement and improvisation.)

Dafni Stefanou is a dance artist. She is a graduate of the Rallou Manou Professional School of Dance (1998), State School of Dance (1999), and x-group project participant at PARTS (Brussels 2000). She has worked as a dancer, performance artist and assistant choreographer in Greece and abroad with several artists, among others: Angeliki Stellatou, Angeliki Papadatou, Vasiliki Tsagkari, Dimitris Papaioannou, Dimitra Lazaridou-Hadzigoga, Esther Klinkers, , Katerina Papageorgiou, Julyen Hamilton, Kosmas Kosmopoulos, Kris Verdonck, Konstandinos Mihos, Lily Kiara, Marjolaine Charbin, Pak Yan Lau, Suzane Muller Nelson, Sato Endo, Theodosia Stathi and Tzeni Argyriou. Since 1999 she has been making independent dance work for the stage and for the screen and teaching contemporary dance and improvisation in Greece and abroad.
