‘Through shelters’ is a choreographic research by Sunayana Shetty that looks into the concept of the maternal as a practice for crafting networks of care. We will be exploring the maternal from a bodily and movement perspective. This workshop is open to all genders; it is not specific to women/mothers.
Sunayana, the current artist in residence at Casa Lucia will be conducting a movement research lab where we will look into mothering as a relational practice of care focusing on developing practices that allow the body to be more than a single individual.
We will explore the maternal through different care practices that invite the body to feel beyond the possessive skin bound body and open to be in a relational kin-bound body.
We will work with improvisation, writing texts and maybe sing some songs together :)
The lab is open to anyone over 15 years old who is curious to dance a little and engage with their bodies.
Bring a notepad and a pen/pencil.
